FROM BAR HARBOR...
When you need an authentic Boston accent for your voice over, go with a local.
No one else gets it right.
...TO MARTHA'S VINEYARD
All across eastern New England, you'll hear the distinctive way folks from this part of the country speak.
And it's way more than just dropping "R's" at the end of sentences.
Many are surprised by the subtleties of the Boston or New England accent. Sure, we do drop R's - but not always. Sometimes we add them.
We also speak fast... running several words together so they become one.
For example, "Did you eat?" sometimes becomes just "Jeet?"
And the New England accent is as much about the attitude as it is about the way we speak.
We're both woke and old school. We'll debate the issues, but we won't put up with your bullshit. We can go from dining with royalty to drinking you under the table. We come across as angry and belligerent, but we're really the friendliest and most welcoming people you'll meet.
FROM FENWAY PARK...
I know all this because I live here. I grew up here. I live on the south shore of Massachusetts, just south of Boston.
